Chedabucto Education Centre/Guysborough Academy staff hope you and your family are enjoying a restful and relaxing summer. We are so excited to welcome our students back and welcome those who are joining us for the first time. Our dedicated staff is already planning and preparing for our students to arrive!
Our school will continue to be a welcoming, safe and inclusive learning environment where we focus on building community, student well-being and overall student success. Our school is very much a community-based school, with many partners involved in a wide variety of programs and supports for the school and community.
We welcome volunteers as we strive to offer as many opportunities for our students as possible. Volunteers require a Vulnerable Sector Check (formerly a Criminal Records Check) and a Child Abuse Registry check. These checks are valid for three years. Volunteers also need to complete a Volunteer Application Form from the school on an annual basis. Anyone interested in becoming a volunteer may contact the school at 902-533-2288 or email Barbara Avery. Please pass this note along to any community members you think would like to volunteer at the school as well. Volunteer opportunities include the Breakfast Program, coaching, chaperoning school events and field trips, School Advisory Council and many other activities that we make available in our school; all of which are successful because of volunteers who offer their time.
Again, we look forward to welcoming our students back to class on Tuesday, September 6, 2022, and wish everyone a wonderful start to the 2022-2023 school year.
